Recent Arsenal recruit Mikel Arteta believes that the Gunners can challenge for a first trophy in six years, having improved their form dramatically in recent weeks.
The Londoners have won seven of their last eight Premier League games and also qualified for the Champions League knockout stages, with Arsenal 18/1 with bookmaker to be crowned champions of Europe for the first time.
That upturn has given Arteta hope of success during his first season with Arsenal following his deadline-day switch from Everton, with he and fellow new boys Per Mertesacker and the now injured Andre Santos having fitted in well.
The Spaniard said: “The club has gone through a lot in the last couple of months, the fans have been disappointed and need something to look forward to.
“We won’t forget about the Premier League, but the Champions League can provide that extra something that gives everyone a lift.”
