Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas is keen to see a swift resolution to the uncertainty surrounding Luka Modric’s future at the club.
Villas-Boas is eager to focus on the job in hand of at least matching last season’s fourth place finish in the Premier League, with Spurs 7/4 with bookmaker to secure a top-four spot once again.
Amid continuing talk of a deal with Real Madrid, and with Modric absent from Spurs’ pre-season tour of the USA, Villas-Boas said: “Hopefully the situation does not drag on because it doesn’t help Luka and it doesn’t help to solve in any way the situation.
“The situation is not dependent on Tottenham, it is dependent on the clubs who are interested in the player.”
Former Chelsea boss Villas-Boas has already added Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen to his White Hart Lane squad this summer.
