Andy Carroll’s agent has moved quickly to dispel suggestions that the striker is set to return to Newcastle United from Liverpool.
The 23-year-old moved to Anfield in January 2011 for £35million on the same day that Liverpool sold Fernando Torres to Chelsea for £50million.
It had been rumoured that Kenny Dalglish was willing to sell Carroll back to Newcastle for between £15million and £25million but the player’s agent, Mark Curtis, has said: “[Andy Carroll] is happy at Liverpool.”
Liverpool are 9/4 to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season while Newcastle can be backed at 80/1.
Carroll has scored just six goals in 31 games in all competitions for Liverpool and twice in 11 Premier League starts this season, against Everton and West Bromwich Albion in October.
