Richard Dunne was pleased that the Republic of Ireland did not pick up any injuries in their final warm-up game ahead of Euro 2012.
Giovanni Trapattoni’s team extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches with a 0-0 draw in Hungary and can now be backed at 11/4 with bookmaker to beat Croatia in their Euro 2012 opener on Sunday.
Goalkeeper Shay Given proved his fitness during the match, after which his Aston Villa team-mate Dunne said: “We were always confident and are happy to come away with a draw.
“We didn’t pull out of any tackles but happily we did not have any injuries.
“It was arranged that Shay Given would come off at half-time. Goalkeeper is a specialist position and others have to get game time.”
The Republic are 80/1 to win Euro 2012.
