Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes has backed Manchester United to come out on top in the battle for the Premier League title in the coming campaign.
The Red Devils, who are 9/4 with bookmaker to be crowned champions in 2012/13, missed out on goal difference to Manchester City last term, but Hughes expects United to come back stronger, saying: “I can see United coming back because that’s in their DNA.
“City will be buoyed by the fact they’ve won the Premier League.
“But the second year is always the difficult one and the challenge for top players is if they replicate what they’ve just done.”
United open their Premier League campaign with a tricky trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Monday 20th August, while City are in action a day earlier when they welcome newly-promoted Southampton to the Etihad Stadium.
