Manchester City could be without their captain Vincent Kompany for Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash at Aston Villa.
The Belgian defender missed Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Fulham, a result which kept Roberto Mancini’s team, who are 1/2 with bookmaker to win the Premier League title, at the top of the table.
Kompany picked up a knee injury during last week’s 1-0 defeat at Everton, in what was his first game back following a four-game suspension.
Scans have since revealed he has slightly twisted the joint and needs to rest.
Kompany has taken to his Twitter account to admit: “Race against time on my hands, will keep you guys posted.”
City are 7/1 to beat Villa 2-1.
