Manager Roberto Mancini was content to see his Manchester City side retain their unbeaten league record as they drew 1-1 at Liverpool.
The Citizens, who are 4/7 with bookmaker to win the Premier League this season, have dropped just four points in their opening 13 games, but they were pushed to the limit by the Reds at Anfield.
Mancini told his club’s official website: “It was a very difficult game for us and it is not easy to come here and get a result, because Liverpool are a very good side, especially at Anfield.
“It is important that we remain unbeaten because a lot of top teams will come here and drop points, so I am happy with a draw under the circumstances.”
Liverpool have already won at both Arsenal and Chelsea this season, while they also held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Anfield just over a month ago.
