Roberto Mancini has admitted that his Manchester City team have little chance of winning through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
City face Bayern Munich on Wednesday and must better Napoli’s result at rock-bottom Villarreal in the other group match if they are to qualify for the last 16 of the competition.
The Blues are 4/6 with bookmaker to beat Bayern, who have already qualified as Group A winners, while the Bundesliga outfit are 4/1 to emerge victorious at the Etihad Stadium.
Mancini is resigned to the fact that City no longer have their destiny in their own hands, admitting: “In my view, we’ve got about a 30 per cent chance. If we win and Napoli don’t beat Villarreal then it’ll be a big moment for us as a club.”
