After helping Wigan Athletic avoid relegation from the Premier League, manager Roberto Martinez’s next task is to convince Victor Moses that his future lies with the Latics.
The former Crystal Palace starlet, who will hold contract talks with Martinez after enjoying a superb season at the DW Stadium, is being linked with a summer switch to the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Moses’ last game for Wigan could be against already relegated Wolves this weekend. It is a match that the Latics are 7/1 with bookmaker to win 2-1, while Moses is 6/1 to open the scoring.
Martinez insists: “Sometimes we forget that Victor is only 21. The potential is incredible. From technical and tactical aspects he’s improved a lot. But there is still a long way to go.
“His potential is so huge, he can go as high as he wants to. You can’t stop players from moving as long as the club gets a fair price. It would be unrealistic for us to think we’re not going to lose players.”
