Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, whose side are 15/2 with bookmaker to win the Premier League this season, is proud of being able to compete with higher-spending clubs.
Redknapp has a number of top stars among his squad at White Hart Lane, but has not paid out the mega-money available to the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea to bring them in.
Redknapp told The Sun: “City are where they are because of Sheikh Mansour and Chelsea thanks to Roman Abramovich.
“We have not done it that way and it makes me proud. You don’t have to go out and spend fortunes to find good players.”
Spurs are currently third in the table, just three points behind leaders City, and they can draw level with the Manchester men by winning at home to Wolves on Saturday.
City, 1/2 to be crowned champions, are not in action until Monday night when they travel to Wigan Athletic.
