Boss Harry Redknapp hopes to have midfield ace Luka Modric back in contention in the near future, following Spurs’ 3-0 defeat at Manchester United.
Croatia playmaker Modric continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea, who are 11/4 with bookmaker to win the Premier League title this season.
Redknapp admitted that Modric has become unsettled by doubts surrounding his future, but is confident that the Blues will not get their man.
He said: “We need him back playing. He’ll be here and get back and work. If anyone can pick him up, I can. I have a great relationship with him. Let’s be truthful, he wanted to go, but he has just got confused with it all.”
Next up for Spurs in the league is the visit of Manchester City on Sunday 28th August, with the Citizens 6/4 to make it three wins out of three this term, while Tottenham are 23/10 to earn a draw and secure their first point of the campaign.
