Brendan Rodgers should have an easy first competitive game in charge of Liverpool after the Reds were drawn to play either FK Renova from FYR Macedonia or FC Gomel of Belarus in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
The two legs are scheduled to be played on 2nd and 9th August.
Liverpool qualified for the Europa League by beating Cardiff City in the final of the Carling Cup in February and are 9/1 with bookmaker to win a competition that will be known as the Capital One Cup in the 2012-13 campaign. They can also be backed at 16/1 to win the Europa League next season.
St Johnstone will play Marseille if they can get past Eskisehirspor. However, Steve Lomas’ side have it all to do after losing the first leg 2-0 in Turkey.
Elsewhere, Inter Milan have been drawn against either Hajduk Split or Latvia’s Skonto FC while Dundee United will play Dinamo Moscow.
