Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has hit back at the club’s critics, insisting that Arsene Wenger’s side will eventually come good.
The Polish shot-stopper is one of the few players in the current Gunners set-up to have enjoyed a solid start to the campaign, although he was at fault for Spurs’ second goal at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Arsenal eventually lost 2-1 in the north London derby, although it was a better overall display than the recent 8-2 defeat at Manchester United and 4-3 setback against struggling Blackburn Rovers.
Szczesny said of the Gunners, who are 11/4 with bookmaker to finish in the top four and 66/1 to win the Premier League title: “This is a new defence and we have to get used to playing with each other. That does take time.
“But I am sure it will get better and, if we stick together and work hard, we’re going to have a lot more clean sheets.”
