Jonny Evans believes Manchester United’s experience will stand them in good stead as the Premier League title race reaches its conclusion.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side briefly went top of the Premier League table for the first time in more than four months after beating Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday, although Manchester City responded by restoring their two-point advantage with a 1-0 victory at Aston Villa.
United are currently 6/4 with bookmaker to win the Premier League while City can be backed at 4/7.
Northern Ireland international Evans will travel to Amsterdam this week for United’s Europa League clash against Ajax, but says of the Premier League: “We know it’s going to be tight in the title race.
“Every game will be like a cup final. This is the position we like to be in. When the manager is giving team talks you can see that he relishes that. A lot of people forget about history and that under the manager we are great finishers towards the end of the season.”
