Yaya Toure may be rested for Manchester City’s weekend clash with Bolton Wanderers after pulling out of the Ivory Coast’s international friendly.
Toure flew to the Ivory Coast ahead of their game with Guinea, only to jump on the next plane back to England.
It is understood that the player fell out with head coach Francois Zahoui during the recent Africa Cup of Nations after his request to stay with his club side a little longer to help their Premier League title tilt was refused.
City have urged Toure to rest after his exhausting round-trip and Roberto Mancini seems certain to be without the influential midfielder against Bolton in a game that his side are 11/1 with bookmaker to win 5-0 and 11/1 to earn a narrow 2-1 victory.
