Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert insists his side are ready for the trip to West Ham, even if he doesn’t add to his squad before the Premier League campaign kicks off.
Lambert admits he wants to bring in a few new faces before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
However, the Villa boss is confident his current squad can cope with the trip to newly-promoted West Ham.
“If we go with what we’ve got on Saturday then I’ve not got a problem. I don’t know if there will be any more activity before then, but the group are doing alright, so we’ll have to wait and see,” said Lambert.
Villa are 11/5 with bookmaker to take all three points on the opening day of the Premier League season. West Ham can be backed at 5/4 to seal the win and the draw is priced at 12/5.
