GENEVA — UEFA president Michel Platini will visit Poland and Ukraine in July to check on their preparations for co-hosting the 2012 European Championship. The two countries have to intensify their efforts over the next few months in order to meet UEFA’s requirements, Platini told a news conference in Geneva on Tuesday. The Silesian Marshal’s Office elected the German design office GMP Architekten from Aachen  for the designer of the roof . The agreement with the company was signed on 25 April. The roof is supposed to be transparent with the openwork structure of the crown. It will cover the auditorium but not grass. Michel Platini, the head of the European football body UEFA, has warned Euro 2012 co-hosts Ukraine and Poland to speed up their preparations.
