Wimbledon and Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic appears to be in ominous form at the US Open.
The world number one, who is 5/4 with bookmaker to triumph at Flushing Meadows, dropped just two games in destroying Argentinian Carlos Berlocq 6-0 6-0 6-2.
The Serb then admitted that he was at his best for most of the match, saying: “The first two sets were ideal, I could not play better.
“I felt fantastic on the court and there is not much I can say when everything seems fun and seems enjoyable.”
Next up for Djokovic is Russian Nikolay Davydenko, a former top five player, who is 16/1 to cause a massive upset and win the match.
Third seed Roger Federer also impressed as he battered Dudi Sela 6-3 6-2 6-2. The Swiss maestro is 11/2 to land a sixth US Open title.
