Roger Federer believes that any one of the eight-man elite field for the ATP Tour World Finals could walk away from London’s O2 Arena with the title.
Federer, 2/1 with bookmaker to retain his title, has clinched back-to-back wins at the Swiss Indoors and the Paris Masters and appears to be in top form ahead of the season-ending finale.
The Swiss maestro should be joined in London by world number one Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Tomas Berdych and Mardy Fish – although both Djokovic and Fish are currently struggling with injuries.
Federer, who has won this title a record-equalling five times already, said: “I think these groups we’re going to see have potential for everybody to win the tournament.
“It’s not like in maybe other years, where there were one or two such clear favourites and after that it would have been a huge surprise.”
