Andy Murray is delighted with the way his relationship with new coach Ivan Lendl is developing.
The British number one had been without a full-time coach since July 2010 before turning to the 51-year-old Lendl earlier this month.
Murray, who is 1/25 with bookmaker to beat Ryan Harrison in the first round of the Australian Open, said: “I think we see a lot of things pretty similar. He doesn’t need to be always coming to me and saying, ‘do you want this, do you need this?’
“So he’s probably given the team a bit of extra leadership, and it’s been good for them to have him around as well.”
Murray has reached the final in Melbourne in each of the last two years and can be backed at 5/1 to go one better this year.
